A planning & mentoring session is effectively like an individual coaching session that provides you with an opportunity to ask me for advice on your running.
I will review and assess any running related issues you are having, and then we will the discuss the different approaches you can take to move your running on again.
Although I can work with most runners, my specialty and passion is with beginner runners, returning runners and those that are stuck in a cycle of inconsistency, injury and/or loss of motivation.
These sessions are ideal for people who like to create their own training plans but need some guidance when things don't quite go to plan.
It's also a way to access the knowledge and experience of a qualified coach without the commitment of a full coaching package.
So, if you want to know how best to start your running journey, are returning after a prolonged period away, or are getting frustrated with your lack of consistency and/or results, then either book a session or get in touch to see how I can help you.
My planning & mentoring sessions are carried out remotely via Teams*.
Your first session will include an initial consultation to review where you're at with your running and allow me to get a good understanding of any issues and your goals.
Once you have booked and paid for your Mentoring Session: Initial Consultation, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to a form for you to complete prior to your session.
I will review your submitted form ahead of your session so that the session itself can involve discussing things in more detail, enabling me to provide you with appropriate advice.
Although there is often enough time to provide you with something useful to take away and action, a Mentoring Session: Follow Up is often booked to review your progress and/or continue building up a longer term plan.
These sessions can be booked as frequently as you need them; either as a regular mentoring/motivational session or whenever you get a bit stuck.
*Teams is the default option when booking these sessions, but I also understand that video calls are not comfortable for everyone. If you would prefer to communicate by email or WhatsApp instead, please let me know by replying to your confirmation email and I will happily email or WhatsApp with you at the time and duration of your session instead.
Please note that telephone consultations are not an option with these sessions.
Hi, I'm Emma and I'm a qualified England Athletics Running Coach.
I have been a runner myself since the early 90s, ranging from track to parkrun, marathon distance and even a few triathlons!
On a personal level I have had more than my fair share of issues that have left me unable to run at all and needing to rebuild my fitness from a beginners level.
At best, my training was so inconsistent that I became increasingly frustrated by my lack of progress, let alone be anywhere near my PBs!
So, when I say I get the pain and misery involved with not being able to run the way you want to, let alone how you once did, I really do understand.
One of my favourite coaching qualities is being able to empathise with my runners - if I can truly put myself in your shoes then I have a much better view of where you're at and where to go next.
In addition to my coaching qualification, I am also a qualified Sports Massage Therapist and Personal Trainer, so I can provide advice on injuries, niggles and how to rehabilitate and help prevent them with strength and conditioning exercises.
If you would like to know more about how I can help you with your running, please send me a message and I will come back to you as soon as I can.
Alternatively, you can email me on emma@evsports.co.uk.
